Our philosophy at Suffield by the River is that just because you have gotten older does not mean you stop having fun or challenging your mind. Liz Sansom, our recreation director, embodies this philosophy. |

Liz Sansom joined Suffield by the River as Recreation Director in February 2006. Liz had formerly been the fitness instructor for the weekly exercise
classes and brings to the position over 16 years of experience in the fitness
field. Her experience includes working with the general population, but also
includes specialty training in older adult fitness. In addition, Liz’s
background includes four years of working on five-star cruise lines where she
got her first exposure to “Bingo-Lingo” as well as with helping out with shore
excursions and entertainment. New activities that have been added to the recreation calendar include Wii bowling and golf, wellness seminars, Welcome Aboard Tea & Greet Party, a more dynamic and interactive Current Events program, pet therapy, weekly craft classes as well as an expanded Garden Club and walks on the Windsor Locks Canal. These new activities along with Blackjack, The World Series of Poker Tournaments, and weekly entertainment help to keep Suffield by the River’s residents entertained, challenged, and happy. Through its recreation program, Suffield by the River offers transportation for its residents to doctor's appointments as well as for grocery shopping and other errands.
